My parenting classes, regardless of the curriculum, are taught using our Instruct, Practice, Empower (IPE®) framework. IPE® is equity-centered, trauma informed and culturally sensitive.

I am a certified Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) levels 3, 4 and 5 provider, a certified Nurturing Parenting practitioner, a certified Strengthening Multi-Ethnic Families Trainer, and EPI custom parenting/coaching curriculum designer. Additionally, I am a Parent Education Coach for both secular and faith-based organizations.

I am the founder/owner of Empowered Parenting Institute. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Masters of Education in Counselling from Iowa State University, and a PhD in Teacher Education and curriculum design from Oklahoma State University. I am Professor Emeritus from Arizona State University, where for 21 years I trained K-12 Teachers in Child and Human Development, Early Childhood Education and Child and Adolescent development.
